On July 11 Guangdong provincial government signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with JD.com; JD.com broke ground the same day on its first RoboBase in the core zone of Guangzhou’s Huangpu Science City. The project spans about 190,000 sq m of gross floor area and targets three segments—robotics core components, full-system manufacturing and high-end intelligent equipment—with emphasis on embodied intelligence, industrial robots, service robots and upstream/downstream supply‑chain firms.
