Moderna (MRNA.O) shares closed down 11%, the largest one-day drop since May 2025.

As of the 02:30 close, SHFE gold main contract fell 0.56% to 896 yuan/gram, SHFE silver main contract fell 0.58% to 14,589 yuan/kg, and SC crude oil main contract fell 1.07% to 464 yuan/barrel.

Chas Freeman, a retired US diplomat and former assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, said even with US production licenses Ukraine would be unable to assemble Patriot air-defense systems for several years. He said producing a complete Patriot system in the US takes about two years and that the US currently has no Patriots to supply Ukraine and will not have any for years. Freeman added, we expect the conflict will be over by then.
