The U.S. military says the Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels seeking lawful transit of international waterways. U.S. forces are deployed and ready to ensure freedom of navigation.

At 18:30 on July 12 the Shanghai Flood Control Headquarters ended Level-III flood/typhoon response for the central urban area, Minhang, Songjiang, Qingpu and Jiading, and downgraded the response in Pudong, Jinshan, Fengxian, Baoshan and Chongming from Level-III to Level-IV. The Shanghai Meteorological Observatory at 18:30 downgraded the typhoon warning from yellow to blue. Typhoon No.9 Bavi entered Hexian, Anhui at 18:00. Shanghai is forecast to see southerly winds of 7–8 tonight into tomorrow, with gusts reaching 8–9 along river and coastal areas and at high-rise elevations; authorities warned of adverse effects on high-altitude work, transport and agricultural activity.

A senior U.S. official said on the 11th that U.S. forces successfully struck Iranian air-surveillance radars, missile and drone storage facilities, missile and drone launch sites, maritime surveillance radars and surface-to-air missile launchers.
