Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister said in a phone call with Iranian foreign minister Araghchi on the 12th that parties should adhere to the Islamabad memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, pursue de‑escalation and exercise restraint to avoid further escalation. He said dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable route to lasting regional stability and reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive role in promoting and maintaining regional peace.

On the 12th Oman’s Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs Khalid summoned Iran’s ambassador and delivered a protest note after drone strikes struck parts of Musandam governorate and central governorates earlier the same day. Oman described the attacks as irresponsible and urged respect for state sovereignty. Omani authorities have not disclosed casualties, damage or the specific targets. Musandam is on the northeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula opposite Iran across the Strait of Hormuz.
