China Association of Automobile Manufacturers says June passenger car production was 2.373 mln and sales 2.402 mln, up MoM 5.9% and 6.6% but down YoY 2.8% and 5.3%. Jan–Jun production/sales were 12.721 mln and 12.720 mln, down YoY 5.9% and 6.0%. The association flags a structural split: domestic demand remains under pressure while exports are growing rapidly; internal combustion vehicle sales fell amid high oil-price volatility, while new energy vehicles (NEVs) showed steady growth and gained share.

China's State Council approved a Plan to Expand Consumption for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, calling for a reasonable increase in public consumption and higher public-service spending on education, healthcare and elderly care. The plan directs optimization of the childcare subsidy system and the deeper rollout of demonstration pilots for childcare-service subsidies. It also mandates a universal basic public-health initiative and measures to improve basic medical services, and instructs government procurement policies to support SMEs.
