Hyundai plans to deploy Atlas humanoid robots at U.S. plants from 2028 for high-volume, repetitive tasks; the union wants a formal agreement securing incomes before any Atlas deployment and conversion to full monthly salary. The union also seeks to raise the fixed bonus from 750% to 800% of monthly pay and increase base pay by KRW149,600 (about USD100). Yonhap estimates the walkout could cost more than KRW18.7 bln per hour.
