The Saudi-led coalition said on the evening of July 13 its air defenses engaged
ballistic missiles fired by Yemen’s Houthi movement toward southern Saudi
Arabia. Earlier, Sanaa International Airport, controlled by the Houthis, was hit
in an airstrike; the Houthis accused Saudi forces and vowed retaliation. Yemen’s
defense ministry said the strike targeted a senior Houthi delegation that had
attended a funeral for Iran’s slain supreme leader Khamenei to prevent them
boarding an Iranian plane to return home.
