China's ChiNext and Shenzhen Composite extended losses into the late morning session, each down about 1%; Shanghai Composite fell 0.98%.

Ibrahim Aziz, chair of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said on the 14th that parliament formally submitted a bill on the night of the 13th titled Strategic Action for Security and Sustainable Process of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. Aziz said the filing coincided with a US drone being shot down and said lawmakers remain determined to defend Iran’s red lines, particularly on management of the Strait of Hormuz; he added the bill is a first step and further measures are imminent.

Bahrain's Ministry of Interior says an alert has been activated, urging citizens and residents to remain calm, move to the nearest safe location and follow official channels for updates.
