Iranian media Fars News reported Iran rescued foreign crew from a bulk carrier that collided with another vessel in waters north of Qeshm Island.

On July 13 local time, Iranian foreign minister Araghchi said on social media Iran will continue political and technical consultations with Oman on management of the Strait of Hormuz and vessel transit.

Financial Times, citing people familiar with the matter, reports DP World is planning a new port and container terminal on the UAE’s east coast to reduce reliance on flagship Jebel Ali and to provide a route that avoids the Strait of Hormuz. The Dubai-headquartered operator is in talks to develop a new multipurpose port on Fujairah’s coast and to add a container terminal at the existing local port. Over the past two decades DP World has built a large global ports and logistics footprint, but Jebel Ali remains the group’s and Dubai’s core asset; shifting some throughput offshore would be material for Dubai’s trade and financial hub positioning.
