July 13 — Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei said the memorandum of understanding with the US has "undoubtedly entered a crisis stage" and that Iran will not adhere to it as long as the US continues to violate its commitments. He said talks in Muscat with Oman were limited to the Strait of Hormuz; Tehran sought a mechanism with Oman to guarantee safe passage of vessels through the strait but the plan failed due to pressure on Oman.
