Six ministries issued China’s Solid Waste Pollution Prevention “15th Five-Year”
Plan, setting 2030 targets: reduce hazardous-waste landfill disposal share from
about 13% in 2025 to under 10%; cut storage-and-landfill share of priority
general industrial solid waste from about 56% to below 30%; achieve 100%
full-process digital supervision coverage for hazardous-waste units; and sharply
lower incidence of illegal dumping and illegal disposal. The plan also calls for
containment of historical stockpiles, materially upgraded overall solid-waste
management capacity, integrated digital regulatory coverage across key areas,
and construction of a number of zero-waste cities.
