The dollar index, which measures the U.S. dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.28% to 101.235 at the New York FX close on the 13th. The euro fell to $1.1387 from $1.1416; the pound to $1.3360 from $1.3398. The dollar strengthened to 162.36 yen from 161.69 and to 0.8141 Swiss franc from 0.8085. The dollar traded at 1.4151 Canadian dollars versus 1.4152 at the prior close, and at 9.7079 Swedish krona versus 9.6638.
