The office of Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Manturov said that after a
visit by NASA Administrator Isaacman, Russia and the United States have drawn up
a joint plan under which International Space Station operations are planned to
conclude at the end of 2030. The sides also discussed emergency mutual
assistance for national orbital stations, lunar cooperation projects, and joint
experiments in space medicine and biology. Construction on the ISS began in 1998
with an initial 15-year design life that was subsequently extended several
times. The Russian segment's core Zvezda service module has experienced
persistent leaks since 2019.
