National Bureau of Statistics: In June, among industrial enterprises above designated size, growth in coal-fired and hydro power generation slowed, nuclear and solar accelerated, and wind swung to a decline. Coal-fired generation rose 0.5% YoY, 1.6 ppts slower than May; hydro rose 4.8%, 8.2 ppts slower; nuclear rose 8.5%, 3.5 ppts faster; wind fell 5.6% (May: +0.5%); solar rose 14.2%, 2.1 ppts faster.

Thomas Pugh at RSM UK said data due Thursday are expected to show May output unchanged, but strong underlying momentum should support Q2 growth. A heatwave likely raised utility demand via increased fan and air‑conditioning use, which could lift industrial output; manufacturers may have front‑loaded activity ahead of potential supply shortages and retail sales rose 1.2% in May. Healthcare activity should rebound after an April hospital doctors' strike. Pugh said growth has eased since the Iran war began but the economy retains good momentum; he sees Q2 growth of 0.2% and around 1% for the year.

FTSE China A50 futures opened 0.6% higher.
