CENTCOM said US forces began a fresh round of strikes on Iran at 15:00 US Eastern Time on July 14 (22:30 Tehran time). It said forces were preparing to reimpose a maritime blockade on Iranian ports and coastal areas, and that the blockade took effect at 16:00 US Eastern (23:30 Tehran). The US had on July 13 announced a third consecutive night of strikes and said it would restore the blockade on July 14 US Eastern Time. President Trump has formally notified Congress that hostilities with Iran have resumed.

US President Trump said Iran has largely exhausted its "best missiles" at this stage, and that over the past four to five days it launched many missiles, almost all of which were shot down.
