Heavy rain across central-eastern Liaoning from July 12-14 produced the Hun
River’s largest flood since 1995. Shenyang station registered a water level of
39.36 m at 16:27 on July 14, with a peak discharge of 4,030 m3/s. As of the
morning of July 15, six hydrological stations on the main stem were above
warning level; Huanglatuo station (Dengta, Liaoyang) and Xingjia Wopeng station
(Liaoyang county) exceeded the warning mark by more than 2 m. Water authorities
are conducting levee patrols, inspections and emergency repair/rescue
operations.
