Zeidon Alkinani, founder of the Arab Perspectives Institute, said Gulf states
under attack have faced growing pressure to pick sides since US and Israeli
military action against Iran began. He noted Gulf Cooperation Council states
strongly opposed the Feb. 28 US-Israeli operation but continue to bear the brunt
of Iranian drone and missile strikes. Alkinani said an urgent endgame is needed
to avoid forcing Gulf states into a choice, and warned Iran is exploiting the
conflict to seek regional military advantage and to demonstrate strike
capabilities against neighbors—including those advocating diplomacy—so Gulf
states' patience and posture toward Iran could change soon.
