Secretary of State Rubio will chair the first meeting of the Economic Diplomacy
Action Group (EDAG) on Wednesday. EDAG was established under the Biden
administration two years ago. A State Dept official said the interagency
group—made up of heads of federal agencies—is tasked with setting the direction
and priorities of US economic policy to advance foreign-policy objectives,
including US leadership in artificial intelligence. Attendees include officials
from the State Dept, Commerce, Energy, Agriculture, Defense and Treasury, plus
the U.S. Trade Representative, Ex-Im Bank, DFC, USTDA, SBA, the Millennium
Challenge Corporation and the White House Office of Science and Technology
Policy.
