Asked whether he had spoken with President Trump, Fed chair Kevin Warsh said "no
comment" and declined to disclose details. He said Trump has not tried to
influence the Fed’s policy execution and that, if the president attempted to
influence policy, he would remain unfazed and focus on his duties. Warsh added
that calls from the president or the banking committee chair would not make him
uncomfortable and that the president has never asked him to do anything improper
— and he would refuse if asked.
