Fitch: In 2026, sovereign rating upgrades in emerging markets will outnumber downgrades.

China Motorcycle Chamber estimates China's motorcycle fleet at about 100 million as of end-June 2026. Newly registered electric motorcycles totaled roughly 3.0 mln, up about 46% YoY; new registrations of petrol motorcycles were about 2.11 mln, up about 2.6% YoY.

China's National Bureau of Statistics released 1H data. Chen Wenling, senior researcher at the Contemporary China and World Research Institute, identified three market-relevant features: concurrent repair of existing stock and creation of new output — steady restoration of existing capacity amid a complex external environment alongside significant new output led by emerging productivity drivers; an overlay of stock-focused and incremental policies that materially supported economic repair and growth; and external-oriented growth running in parallel with domestic structural optimization. She described her overall assessment of 1H as strong and improving.
