Iran's military spokesman says there is no confrontation between Tehran and neighboring countries.

A military spokesman said on 16 July Iran's armed forces are prepared to defend national security and national interests and that a significant portion of their capabilities remain undisclosed. He warned that if hostile actions against Iran persist, Tehran will respond according to circumstances, with responses likely to exceed opponents' expectations and could extend the conflict into new domains. The spokesman added Iran prefers cooperation with regional neighbours and Islamic states and does not seek confrontation.
