CNN reports that last year President Trump posted a “very big and exciting
announcement” on Truth Social after Nvidia (NVDA.O) announced plans to build a
US AI supercomputer. In an April 15, 2025 post to his more than 9 million
followers he pledged “all necessary permits will be expedited and quickly
delivered to Nvidia and similar companies.” CNN says Trump bought
$200,000–$500,000 of Nvidia stock days earlier. The network found Trump promoted
more than 20 companies on Truth Social shortly after purchasing their shares and
sometimes announced potential government actions that could benefit recent
investments. The White House denies Trump used his office for personal gain and
says trades are handled by external financial managers and that Trump and his
family do not control individual transactions.
