An adviser to Iran’s supreme leader warned on the 16th that recent attacks in
Ahvaz and Iranshahr are part of the same campaign as an earlier strike on a
Minab school and that assaults on Iranian security and infrastructure could
disrupt regional energy supply chains and pose serious risks to regional energy
security. Khuzestan deputy governor said on the 15th that areas around
provincial capital Ahvaz were struck in attacks he blamed on US forces, with
shells hitting near a local hospital. Sistan-Baluchestan deputy governor
confirmed Iranshahr airport was attacked in the early hours of the 9th, and a
firefighter was killed.
