In a prime-time address Thursday, Trump urged Americans to pressure Congress to
pass the stalled Save America Act, asking viewers to call their House and Senate
representatives. The bill faces strong opposition in the Senate and currently
has no viable path to passage. Trump has repeatedly failed to win backing from
fellow Republicans and has used leverage—including refusing to sign a separate
bipartisan housing bill—to press for progress. He again repeated baseless claims
that failing to approve the measure would open the door to widespread fraud in
the November midterms.
