President Xi in an opening keynote outlined China’s AI priorities — healthy, safe and orderly development — and Beijing said it is pushing to establish a World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization to promote people-centered, inclusive AI, help Global South countries build capacity and avoid a new intelligence divide, and strengthen the UN’s coordinating role in AI governance. China said it will coordinate with the UN to advance governance of AI and other emerging technologies.
