Xiao Yuanqi, party committee member and deputy director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, visited Romania and Greece recently. He met with Petrescu and Mititelu of Romania’s financial regulator, Badia, first deputy governor of the National Bank of Romania, and Pelagidis, deputy governor of the Bank of Greece, to discuss the international economic and financial outlook, international regulatory standards and bilateral supervisory cooperation.

Rezaei, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, warned that if US forces continue strikes for the next two to three days Iran will abandon its deterrence-and-matched-response posture and shift to a “full offensive and destruction” phase, potentially striking US military bases and personnel overseas. He said prior Iranian restraint aimed to avoid regional spillover but that US “miscalculation” could escalate the situation; Rezaei urged Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and the UAE to prevent the US and Israel from widening operations and said the US policy of “war and negotiation simultaneously” has failed, adding Iran will intensify retaliation in the coming days.
