Sagawa Express on the 18th acknowledged a data leak affecting about 70,000 users
of its "SmartClub" membership service after a configuration error during
system-fault repairs exposed names, email addresses and parcel tracking numbers
on the evening of the 15th. The company said the breach did not include
credit-card data or postal addresses and there have been no reports of the data
being used illegally; "SmartClub" sends delivery ETA notices and allows members
to set delivery dates and times.
