At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the Institute of Modern
Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences said China globally launched an
AI-empowered accelerator-driven advanced nuclear system technology roadmap,
AIforADANES, and established an associated all-domain innovation alliance. The
roadmap adopts a physics-intrinsic world-model intelligence framework and a
‘‘data + physical model + expert experience’’ triple-driven paradigm, which the
institute says addresses AI black-box controllability concerns against the
nuclear sector’s zero-tolerance safety requirements and fills a technical gap
for deploying intelligent advanced nuclear systems.
