One person who said they were laid off put the number at roughly 100 dismissed at SEA’s Plano, Texas office, including mobile staff. While tied to the HQ relocation, the cuts underscore a divergence within Samsung: the chip division has seen record profit gains while consumer electronics are under pressure from rising chip costs.
