South Korea's KOSPI closed up 3.6% at 6,747.95 on Tuesday, after a liquidation-driven selloff that erased 10.5% over the prior two sessions began to ease. The index was up as much as 4.9% intraday but remains in bear-market territory, about 25% below its June 22 record close. Regulators have moved to curb leveraged financing products, refocusing attention on fundamentals: continued AI-driven demand and a still-firm earnings outlook for memory-chip makers. JP Morgan maintained an overweight on Korea in regional allocations with a 12-month target of 12,500, saying the market should be able to withstand the shock from position liquidations and resume positive momentum.
