July 21 — Cai Tuanjie, director-general of Transport Services and safety chief
at the Ministry of Transport, said at a State Council press briefing that
transport-sector measures have helped cut logistics costs, bringing the ratio of
total social logistics costs to GDP down to 13.9%. Over the 15th Five-Year Plan
period the ministry will speed construction of the logistics network, advance
backbone logistics corridors, deepen interconnectivity at key hubs, address
urban–rural logistics facility shortfalls and strengthen international logistics
facility layout.
