President Trump said on Tuesday the United States would “deal with” Yemen’s
Houthi group if it imposes a blockade on shipping or energy exports from Saudi
Arabia via the Red Sea. Speaking in the Oval Office, he said the action has not
occurred “so far” but “maybe will,” and reiterated “if this happens, we will
act.” He added the US has taken action against the Houthis before and “haven’t
heard from them” since those initial measures.
