Beijing, July 21, 2026 — CSRC Chairman Wu Qing met with John Graham, president and CEO of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, to discuss global and Chinese economic and financial conditions and investment in China’s capital markets. Wu said China’s economy was broadly stable in 1H and is shifting toward higher-quality growth, and pledged the CSRC will prioritise market stability, steadily expand high‑level institutional opening and further improve ease of foreign participation in China’s capital markets. He welcomed long‑term global institutions, including CPPIB, to increase allocations to China. Graham said CPPIB remains constructive on China’s reform and development and will continue to treat China as an important long‑term investment region under its value‑investment approach.
