Chengdu municipal government issued an AI+ Action Plan directing stepped-up R&D
in general-purpose technologies and targeted work on core autonomous-driving
capabilities — sensor fusion/perception, driving decision-making and precise
vehicle control — to close technical gaps. The plan prioritizes development of
smart cockpits, vehicle operating systems and in-vehicle terminals, and calls
for deep AI integration across full-vehicle R&D to accelerate automakers’
development and mass production of L3 and above intelligent connected vehicles.
