For 2026, minimum purchase prices for early indica, mid‑late indica and japonica rice remain unchanged at 1.28, 1.29 and 1.31 yuan per jin (500g) respectively, with a capped total procurement of 50.0 mln tonnes. Wheat’s minimum purchase price is held unchanged for a second year at 1.19 yuan per jin for 2026, with procurement capped at 37.0 mln tonnes. The ministry said it will continue to maintain and refine the minimum purchase price policy to safeguard farmers’ basic grain income and underpin national food security.
