Yemen’s deputy foreign minister told Al Arabiya that Iran is seeking to open a front in Yemen and that Iran and its Houthi proxies pose a threat to the wider region. He warned the security of the Strait of Hormuz is a global issue and said the international community recognises that no peace is possible while the Houthis remain. He added Yemen has completed administrative procedures to enable unified military decision-making and said the government does not want to be drawn into war but will not be forced into one.
