The Jerusalem Post reported that on Wednesday Iran fired missiles toward Jordan, producing smoke over the Aqaba area. The Israeli military said it did not launch Iron Dome interceptors and that debris from Jordanian intercepts did not fall into Israel. US forces reportedly intercepted the missiles; reports say the visible smoke was caused by intercept debris.

At the 2026 China Auto Forum on July 22, Fu Bingfeng, executive vice president and secretary‑general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), said the domestic auto market’s incremental growth is narrowing and the industry has entered a new phase of competition for existing market share. He said competition has intensified and firms should defend fundamentals, return to rational competition and pursue high‑quality, sustainable development. Fu flagged three policy and supply risks: governance and institutional mechanisms need urgent improvement to support sustainable industry development; the industrial and supply chains have gaps, including weak domestic control of core foundational technologies and high external dependence on upstream critical minerals; and globalization faces multiple challenges.
