upgrade protocol has been formally signed; China and ASEAN have been each
other’s largest trading partner for six consecutive years, with bilateral trade
exceeding US$1 trillion in 2025. Beijing launched an "ASEAN visa" and the
China‑ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchanges (2024–2025) staged nearly 200 major
events to boost cross‑border travel and services flows. China reached key
consensus with eight ASEAN countries on building bilateral "communities of
shared destiny," strengthening the basis for closer China‑ASEAN integration.
Beijing provided immediate disaster relief after earthquakes in Myanmar and the
Philippines’ Mindanao, underscoring operational cooperation with ASEAN partners.
