A Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) survey of about 9,000 people found Australians rank high inflation above housing affordability, interest rates and wages as their top concern. The survey reported widespread misunderstanding of monetary transmission: many respondents do not link interest-rate levels to returning inflation to the RBA’s 2-3% target band and many wrongly believe higher borrowing costs push up consumer prices. It said this knowledge gap could, in some cases, blunt the effect of monetary tightening.

Wang said under their leaders' strategic guidance China and Brazil have advanced a comprehensive strategic partnership and should maintain strategic communication, strengthen coordination and deepen cooperation. China will continue to support Brazil's sovereignty, security and development and expects reciprocal respect for its core interests. China offered closer cooperation in space, connectivity and artificial intelligence and welcomed Brazil joining the World AI Cooperation Organization. Vieira said the leaders keep close communication and high mutual trust, bilateral exchanges are frequent and trade hit a record high last year; Brazil seeks deeper finance and trade ties and tighter coordination with China at the UN and BRICS.
