LONGi Green Energy has signed an agreement with RWE to deploy a utility-scale solar plus battery energy storage system in Sicily, Italy. The project will deliver roughly 300 MWh of storage and will connect to the local grid. LONGi will supply its flagship centralized storage solution, LONGiBank 2.0 (6.25 MWh modules). The product uses a high-safety, liquid-cooled integrated lithium iron phosphate (LFP) design with energy density up to 146 Wh/L and achieves 6,251 kWh per single 20-foot standard container compartment.
