Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met a cross-party delegation led by European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee chair David McAllister. Gong said Shanghai seeks deeper economic, trade and industrial-investment ties and expanded people-to-people exchanges with the EU, supports facilitating quality firms’ investment in each other’s markets, and asked the committee to back broader EU–Shanghai cooperation to help sustain stable China–EU relations.
