Jeff Bezos has urged Prime Video chief Mike Hopkins to overhaul the streaming service and place artificial intelligence at its core, according to four people. The internally named Lighthouse project is designed to showcase Amazon’s AI to more than 200 million Prime Video users and is seen as a key move to bolster the company’s AI standing; other AI efforts, including multi-year Alexa upgrades for more natural dialogue, have produced mixed results and remain loss-making.
