China CSI 300 index futures (IF) most-active contract hit 4,600 points, down 1.28% intraday. China CSI 500 index futures (IC) most-active contract fell over 2.00% intraday, trading at 7,442.0 points.

Three ministries including the Ministry of Finance issued Implementation Measures for a pilot environmental protection tax on volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Initial pilot industries are: printing; petroleum, coal and other fuel processing; chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing; pharmaceutical manufacturing; iron and steel smelting; general and special equipment manufacturing; and automobile manufacturing, classified per China’s national economic industry classification. Authorities said other sectors subject to VOC controls will be added to the pilot as appropriate.
