Qingdao’s government-guided city commercial-insurance product Qindao eBao updated and began sales on July 1, 2026, adding 10 drugs from the national first commercial-insurance innovative-drug catalogue. Total special and rare-disease drugs covered rose to 33, including CAR-T and malignant tumor therapies. From July 1, 2025 to May 2026 Qindao eBao registered 8.48 mln policies, paid claims to 135,400 insureds totaling 936 mln yuan, of which specialty-drug payouts amounted to 108 mln yuan.

Early on July 24 a tropical depression east of the Philippines strengthened into this year’s 12th typhoon, Hongxia. The system is expected to move west‑northwest at about 25–30 km/h and to intensify, increasing its impact on Guangdong maritime areas. Citing its cyclone emergency plan, the Guangdong Maritime Administration activated a Level‑1 response at 14:00 on July 24 and directed relevant units to implement defensive measures and ensure water-transport safety.
