Soochow University researchers led by Professors Yang Xinbo and Zhang Xiaohong,
with Hong Kong Polytechnic University and several photovoltaic firms, developed
an indium-free composite interlayer that forms a molecular bridge between
perovskite and crystalline silicon. The layer improved power conversion
efficiency and long-term stability in tandem photovoltaic cells in a
next-generation industrialization project; results were published online in
Nature Energy on July 24.
