Police are cracking down on these offenses and on criminal gangs providing technical support. In 1H authorities investigated more than 170 cases of AI-generated online rumors and took legal action against over 190 people.

Mitsubishi UFJ Bank analyst Derek Halpenny said an escalating US–Iran conflict could make it harder for Japan to prevent further yen weakness. US President Trump said he will decide imminently whether to order an unprecedented large-scale strike on Iran. Halpenny warned a strike that pushes oil prices higher could lift market pricing of Fed rate hikes, further constraining Japan’s ability to cap USD/JPY gains.
