In court filings the parties said the agreement freezes the transaction and extends a shorter pause previously ordered by a California federal judge. The merger would combine major studios, streaming services HBO Max and Paramount+, and networks including CBS and CNN. Paramount CEO David Ellison led the acquisition and prevailed over Netflix after multiple rounds of higher bids.

International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan was removed from office on the 24th after a joint meeting of the Court’s oversight body and the Assembly of States Parties at UN headquarters in New York. Of 125 Rome Statute states parties, 82 voted to dismiss him amid allegations of "serious misconduct" and "serious dereliction of duty."
