Typhoon Hongxia, the year’s 12th, made landfall at about 03:50 on July 26 near Pinghai town, Huidong county, Huizhou, as a strong typhoon (45 m/s, force 14). Its intensity weakened and by 10:00 the center was in Huicheng district, Huizhou, with maximum winds near the center of 25 m/s (force 10, severe tropical storm). Citing the provincial flood/drought/wind/freeze emergency plan and relevant provisions, Guangdong’s provincial flood-control command at 11:00 on July 26 adjusted the wind emergency

An IRGC spokesman said US assets in the region suffered the following damage between July 7 and July 21. Radar and air-defence: 7 command-and-control centers; 3 satellite-communications systems; 6 Patriot air-defence radars (Iran said Patriots were severely degraded and that Iranian missiles and drones struck targets without interception); 3 airborne/maritime surveillance radars; 8 early-warning/pulse radars; 7 airborne missile-defence radars; multiple EPS and EPS‑117 radars; and several long-range and tactical radars. Logistics and support: 6 fighter/helicopter maintenance centres; 3 logistics centres; 12 fuel depots; 17 weapons and aircraft-parts warehouses; 6 missile depots. Operational infrastructure: 6 MQ‑9 drone hangars; an F‑15 preparation/workshop; a shelter storing 8 new drones; 2 command centres; a carrier refuelling platform; a P‑8 hangar; 4 HIMARS launch platforms; 5 fighter hangars; 4 Patriot system complexes; 6 missile-launch platforms; a fuel pump station; 2 signal/communications centres; an intelligence data centre; an AI/data-processing centre (Amazon-related); a remote-controlled unmanned-vessel storage centre; a refuelling pier; and multiple aircraft ramps. Air assets: 11 fighters/helicopters on the ground; 17 reconnaissance/strike drones (8 new); 1 F‑15 (in shelter); 1 P‑8; 1 C‑17; 8 tanker aircraft; 4 heavy helicopters; and 6 inventory missiles.

On July 24 the Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) and the German Wholesale and Foreign Trade Association said recent US tariff measures and frequent policy shifts are exacerbating operational and investment uncertainty. Volker Treier, DIHK head of foreign trade, said the US appears to be seeking a new legal basis to reinstate tariffs previously suspended by courts; the ongoing changes increase firms’ administrative and legal costs and undermine a predictable business environment. He urged the full removal of US tariffs that violate WTO rules, singling out the additional steel and aluminum duties still in effect.
