Korea Automobile & Mobility Association (KAMA) said South Korean vehicle exports rose 2.1% YoY to 1.441 mln units in 1H; environmentally friendly models' share climbed to 37.0% from 30.0% a year earlier. KAMA expects H2 exports to decline 0.3% YoY to 1.32 mln units, citing high global inflation and rate hikes, leaving full-year exports at 2.76 mln units, up 0.9% YoY.

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee said he has directed government departments to mount full contingency preparations as Typhoon Hongxia approaches. The Hong Kong government will keep departments on duty and deploy measures to protect life, property and public safety; the public was urged to remain alert and follow official weather updates. Officials warned that even after the No. 8 gale or storm signal is lowered, Hongxia may still bring strong winds and heavy rain. The district consultation session on the first five-year plan and the 2026 Policy Address scheduled for tomorrow (26th) has been postponed.
