Gilan governor Hadi Haghshenas said an Iranian merchant vessel anchored off the Volga-to-Caspian route was attacked, killing one crew member and wounding three. The ship, loaded with steel and other cargo and en route from Russia’s Astrakhan to Iran’s Anzali, had its wheelhouse destroyed and is unable to continue; authorities did not specify the attack type and are investigating.

SK Hynix will report Q2 results on July 29. A Yonhap Infomax compilation of 14 broker reports expects Q2 revenue of 84.06 tln won and operating profit of 64.09 tln won. The Q2 operating profit forecast is about 17 tln won higher than last year’s full-year operating profit of 47.2 tln won. With Q1 operating profit of 37.61 tln won, SK Hynix’s H1 operating profit would exceed 100 tln won. Samsung Electronics earlier issued a preliminary report showing its Device Solutions division posted operating profit of 89.4 tln won; if SK Hynix meets consensus, the two companies’ combined Q2 operating profit would top 150 tln won.
